The studios in the Architecture Bachelor at XJTLU are various. Each of them has unique approaches and understandings towards architecture. They inspired me and initiated a broader interest, ranging from mundane design of everyday life, heritage in the countryside, aesthetics and philosophy to high-tech digitalized design and also social participation. During my undergraduate, I learned the foundational skills in form-making as a physical manifestation. Through my studies at XJTLU, I obtained an 'architectural lens' to view the world.
I have been looking into questions of relational ecology and forms of creative practice since I began to study in the course of the MArch Part 2 at Central Saint Martins in London. This is a unique course, in which the students are encouraged to reflect on and challenge the role and practice of the architect in the broader context of spatial agency. During my study, I have gained a deeper understanding of how ecology is relational, how the issues around climate change are complex but also offer possibilities. I am currently researching forms of practice that bridge between architecture and anthropology.
